SEO AI ("the App") is a Shopify application that helps merchants scan, optimize, and report on the search-engine performance of their store. This policy explains what data the App accesses, why, and how it is handled.

Data we access from your Shopify store

When you install the App, Shopify grants it the following access, used only to power the App's SEO features:

• Products, collections, and their descriptions, titles, images, and SEO fields
• Online store pages, blog articles, and theme content
• Files and metaobjects created or managed by the App
• Store policies (e.g. shipping, returns) used for structured data generation

The App does not access customer personal information, orders, or payment details.

Data we store

To operate, the App stores a copy of the store data listed above, along with SEO scan results, generated content, and usage history, in a private database. Access tokens for your Shopify store and any connected Google account are stored encrypted at rest.

Third-party AI providers

When you use an AI-powered feature (SEO content rewriting, ALT text generation, blog generation), the relevant product/page content and images are sent to the AI provider currently configured for the App (which may include Google Gemini, Groq, OpenAI, or Anthropic) solely to generate the requested output. These providers process the content under their own data-handling terms and do not use it to train models on the App's behalf.

Google Search Console & Analytics (optional)

If you choose to connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics, the App requests read-only access to your ranking, traffic, and conversion data via Google's OAuth flow, and stores the resulting access/refresh tokens encrypted. This data is used only to display SEO performance inside the App and in emailed reports you configure. You can disconnect these integrations at any time from within the App.

Data retention and deletion

Store data is retained for as long as the App is installed. When the App is uninstalled, Shopify notifies the App via the mandatory app/uninstalled webhook, and the App's stored data for that store is deleted in accordance with Shopify's data protection requirements. You may also request earlier deletion by contacting us below.

Data sharing

We do not sell store data. Data is shared only with the third-party AI providers described above (as needed to generate content you request) and with infrastructure providers that host the App's database and servers, solely to operate the service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App's features change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
